Ghana Celebrates 69th Independence Day
Ghana marked its 69th Independence Day on March 6, 2026, with a ceremony held at Jubilee House in Accra, attended by former presidents, government officials, diplomats, traditional leaders, school children, and youth.

As part of the celebrations, the government announced the establishment of a Women’s Development Bank aimed at supporting women-led businesses, highlighting a commitment to gender equality and economic empowerment.
Additionally, President Mahama assented to the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill, an initiative expected to generate approximately 1,000 new jobs, furthering the government’s efforts to boost the economy.
