Bayern Munich’s Remarkable Comeback in Champions League

The match featured a remarkable comeback by Bayern Munich, who scored two late goals to narrow PSG’s lead to just one goal. Bayern lost 5-4 in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. This match marked the first time in a European semi-final that both teams scored four or more goals.

PSG led 3-2 at half-time after a five-goal first half. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia scored twice for PSG. Ousmane Dembele also netted two goals, including a penalty.

Bayern Munich responded vigorously. Harry Kane opened their scoring with a penalty in the first half. They later scored two goals within three minutes to make the final score 5-4.

Luis Diaz added Bayern’s fourth goal after a VAR review overturned an offside decision. The match became the joint-highest scoring semi-final in European Cup history.

The second leg will take place at the Allianz Arena in Munich. If five goals are scored in that match, it will set a record for the highest-scoring Champions League knockout tie.

Bayern Munich has had an impressive season, losing only three out of 50 games so far. Vincent Kompany emphasized the need for his team to maintain their mentality and personality in the upcoming leg.

Ousmane Dembele remarked on the attacking nature of both teams, stating, “It was a match between two great teams who attack, who don’t hesitate.” Harry Kane noted that despite nine goals being scored, there was still some amazing defending on display.
