Akiyesi’s death was confirmed by Abubakar Yakubu, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria. His body is currently in a morgue in Abuja. Yakubu stated, “He died yesterday. Slept and did not wake up from sleep.” The circumstances surrounding his death have not yet been fully disclosed.
Akiyesi began his acting career in the late 1990s and featured in over 100 films during his career. He was known for roles in movies such as ‘Marry Who You Love’ and ‘Desperate Ladies’. His passing adds to a series of recent losses in Nollywood.
